Not their best January 1, 2009 I'm a big Rite in the Rain fan but this is not one of their best products. I have two that I'll keep using until they're full but then I'll stick to their flexible covers. BIG positive for this book over the green and tan covers: (almost) white paper. I find the spine too stiff for actual use, especially in conditions without a desk or table. The material it is bound with also makes the cover thicker and it just doesn't carry "right". The lines on the paper also seem to be off to me, too far apart. As with ALL Rite in the Rain products, the paper is absolutely waterproof and will last through a downpour or full submersion. Be aware the waterproof qualities also make this paper "ink-proof". You will need to use a Rite in the Rain pen or a pencil to do your writing.
Really enjoy it April 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I went on a little notebook kick for a while to find one that suited my needs just right and there's isn't one. I'm too picky. But this one comes really close. I've used Rite in The Rain products for years and they are just as durable and versatile as they claim. This book is the perfect size to fit in my cargo pocket (I'm in the Air Force) and it's durable enough to put up with me. It has all sorts of useful conversions and telephone numbers in the back which help since I'm deployed a lot and off to foreign countries. I hadn't considered that when I purchased it but it's really handy. I bought this one, too, because it lays flat. The products they have with the tan or green covers don't lie flat and are tough to write in. I just covered up the yellow with some green duct tape so I don't have a big, yellow target in front of me. Plus, Rite in the Rain is one of the most customer friendly companies I've ever worked with. They will do everything they can to keep you as a happy customer.
Rite in the Rain...right on time! March 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These Rite in the Rain journals are the best. I spent 10 days in the rain forests of Nicaragua and I used the Rite in the Rain journal to chronicle my time there. They proved to be invaluable when by bag dropped into Lake Nicaragua. They were the only thing that didn't get ruined. I recommend the Rite in the Rain journal for anyone who is planning to be in unpredictable conditions.
AWESOME! January 4, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This along with the pen lasted thru all the elements on my sons NOLS semester this Fall. Highly recommend.
